The HISPEC Project
نویسنده
چکیده
HISPEC (High-resolution in-flight spectroscopy) deals with a versatile, high resolution, high efficiency spectroscopy set-up to address questions in nuclear structure, reactions and astrophysics using radioactive beams from the Super FRS with energies of 3-150 MeV/u. The radioactive beams will be used for γ-ray, charged particle and neutron spectroscopy. The HISPEC set-up will comprise beam tracking and identification detectors placed before and behind the secondary target, the AGATA Ge array, charged particle detectors, a plunger, a magnetic spectrometer and other ancillary detectors.

The High-resolution in-flight spectroscopy (HISPEC) project
HISPEC [1,2] deals with a versatile, high-resolution, high-efficiency spectroscopy set-up to address questions in nuclear structure, reactions and astrophysics using radioactive beams with energies of 3-150 MeV/u. The HISPEC setup will be located at the low-energy branch of the SuperFRS, with the possibility to be mounted both before or behind the planned energy buncher. The experimental techni...

The NuSTAR HISPEC slowed down beams project at GSI/FAIR aims to produce rare isotopes with energies of 10 MeV/u and less. The setup requires tracking and Time of Flight(ToF) information [1]. An energy loss measurement is desirable in order to determine Z of the slowed down fragments. The detector should have a time resolution of ∆T 100 ps, position resolution of the order of a mm and energy res...
متن کاملDEcay SPECtroscopy (DESPEC) at the new FAIR-NUSTAR facility
This contribution describes DESPEC [1] (DEcay SPECtroscopy) which together with HISPEC [2] constitutes one of the proposed and accepted joint experiments of NuSTAR. Decay studies of implanted activities will be vital for our understanding of nuclear structure and astrophysics far from stability where FAIR will produce the most exotic beams of nuclei with short half-lives. Decay studies of isome...
متن کاملPRESPEC: Driving on the FAIR road of HISPEC/DESPEC
Fingerprinting excited nuclear states by γ-ray spectroscopy has been a viable tool to benchmark nuclear models for decades. Since contemporay nuclear structure investigations aim at the study and understanding of very exotic nuclei at the limits of stability and their decay properties, large and thus highly efficient γ-ray spectroscopy instruments are the basis for continued discoveries into th...
متن کاملHigh-activity PtRuPd/C catalyst for direct dimethyl ether fuel cells.
Dimethyl ether (DME) has been considered as a promising alternative fuel for direct-feed fuel cells but lack of an efficient DME oxidation electrocatalyst has remained the challenge for the commercialization of the direct DME fuel cell. The commonly studied binary PtRu catalyst shows much lower activity in DME than methanol oxidation. In this work, guided by density functional theory (DFT) calc...
